Our Divisions

MCG Energy & Utilities

Sustainable utility systems that power and serve growing communities, including solar installations, electrical reticulation and water infrastructure.

Division overview

What we do

MCG Energy & Utilities supports the infrastructure that supplies power, water and other essential services to growing communities. The division coordinates defined construction and installation packages with qualified designers, specialist contractors and network operators. Technical performance, connection rights and operating obligations would be established project by project rather than assumed from the description of a service.

We undertake small projects as well as larger construction packages. Each appointment defines the scope, delivery resources and specialist responsibilities. Professional registrations and certifications are verified where required; service descriptions do not imply a particular accreditation or completed project.

Services in detail

Service 01

Solar and renewable-energy installation packages

Solar works begin with the client's energy requirements, site constraints and the interfaces with the building and electrical network. Delivery planning coordinates installation areas, structural considerations, procurement and testing. Where storage or other technologies are proposed, their inclusion would depend on specialist design, feasibility and the agreed contract scope.

  • Defined solar installation and construction scopes
  • Building and electrical-interface coordination
  • Installation inspections and testing documentation

Scope considerations: Generation output, system size, grid connection and long-term operation are not guaranteed; specialist responsibilities must be agreed.

Service 02

Electrical reticulation and distribution infrastructure

Our services address electrical infrastructure packages serving buildings and developments, including the coordination of routes, equipment locations and supply interfaces. The construction sequence aligns with inspection, testing and network-operator requirements. Safety-critical and regulated work is allocated only to appropriately qualified and authorised parties.

  • Development electrical-reticulation packages
  • Cable-route and building-services interfaces
  • Testing, energisation and handover coordination

Scope considerations: Protection design, compliance certification, utility permissions and energisation authority require appropriate professional appointments.

Service 03

Substations and supporting construction works

A substation project may involve civil foundations, equipment buildings, access and specialist electrical systems. Our service scope considers the particular construction packages MCG is appointed to undertake, with clear separation of design, equipment supply, installation and commissioning responsibilities. Interface planning is central to avoiding gaps between these packages.

  • Associated civil and building construction
  • Equipment and access-interface planning
  • Specialist installation and commissioning coordination

Scope considerations: High-voltage design and commissioning are not implied capabilities; operator approval and authorised specialists must be confirmed.

Service 04

Water, wastewater and sustainable utility systems

Our construction scopes support water supply, treatment, wastewater or utility-network developments. Planning aligns structures, process equipment, pipework and connection points with the appointed designers' requirements. Water-wise and resource-efficient options are evaluated against actual demand, maintenance needs and site feasibility rather than presented as automatic project outcomes.

  • Defined water and wastewater construction works
  • Process-equipment and network interfaces
  • Testing and operating-information coordination

Scope considerations: Treatment performance, permits and plant operation require specialist design, approvals and an explicit operating scope.

Delivery approach

Utility delivery starts with demand and connection requirements, followed by a responsibility schedule covering designers, operators and contractors. Procurement and site work are planned around technical approvals and long-lead equipment. Testing and commissioning arrangements should be agreed before installation, not left until the end of construction.

Completion and handover

Close-out assembles applicable inspection results, certificates, equipment information and operating instructions. Network connection, energisation and operational acceptance remain the responsibility of the authorised parties identified in the contract and relevant approvals.
